Romano Prodi: Iraq Was A Grave Error
Romano Prodi, the newly elected Italian Prime Minister has said the war in Iraq was a "grave error" in his first speech to Italy's Senate as prime minister. He called for the immediate withdrawal of the Italian troops from Iraq. The Italians are smart (of course).
So, among the serious European forces, only England has still some troops in Iraq. I would not be surprised if England pulls out in the near future as well. Tony Blair has been dicredited and he is widely perceived as a dishonest person among the British.
When will we get out? Do we have to wait until 2008? I hope somehow a democratic congress in late 2006/early 2007, finds a way to impeach Bush and call for immediate withdrawal from Iraq. Any day we stay there is a waste.
