Ed Koch: An Ex-Democrat And Strong Bush Supporter To Campaign For Lieberman
In his desperation, Joe Lieberman found a supporter!!! An ex-democrat who has degenerated to a passionate Bush supporter. This is ex-mayor of New York, Ed Koch. The 82 year old ex-democrat, apparently endorsed Joe Lieberman . In 2004, Ed Koch had backed George Bush, despite claiming to be a democrat, and had campaigned aggressively to re-elect Bush, especially in Florida.
He had said then:
"I believe that the most important issue facing the world is international terrorism, and it is my current intention to vote for George W. Bush for re-election." He had also made a lot of other bizzare and neoconservative-like statements then, like those ones.
Now, he said:
"Like President Bush, Joe Lieberman understands that we are involved in a war between civilizations.".
We would, respectfully, like to suggest to the ex-mayor of New York, to join the "Connecticut for Lieberman" party of Joe Lieberman. That way the strength of the party will double (from 1 to 2 members) and, who knows, Joe Lieberman may appoint him Vice President of his party.
I am sure that Joe Lieberman is happy that another Bush supporter who claims to be a "democrat" endorsed him. However, I doubt that anyone else in Connecticut would take Ed Koch seriously or listen to him. The independent candidacy of Lieberman is looking more and more bizzare and, in a way, sad.
