Rejected, Isolated, Defeated

Lieberman promised yesterday to run as an independent and said that he could not let the results stand, “for the sake of our state, my party, and our country.’’ Interestingly, his party (Connecticut for Lieberman) has only one (1) member: himself.

Lieberman can not undestand how democracy works, because apparently he does not believe in it and does not care about the democratic process. He still lives in the old times, when corporate money and political connections could win or buy elections. He still lives in the old political world, where someone like his good friend George Bush could deliberately lie to start wars.

But times have changed. The blogosphere has allowed for the rapid dissemination of the truth. The internet has allowed unscreened, real, information reaching the people. Antidemocratic forces, like the ones represented by individuals like Dick Cheney or Joe Lieberman now have to deal with a new reality. The only way they can reverse this reality is if they find a way to control the internet. But I doubt that they will be able to do that. The world is changing rapidly. For the better.
