Elections in Chile

Michelle Bachelet, a doctor, won the elections in Chile . The winner was a political prisoner during the dictatorship of mass muderer Augusto Pinochet. She was also defense minister in the current administration, the market-friendly, center-left coalition that has governed since the end of Pinochet's 1973-90 rule.

It will be interesting to see if she will testify in the trial of Pinochet that should start soon. It is good to see that justice prevails at least and that a victim of the criminal Pincohet will be prime minister of Chile.
