Joe Lieberman Will Lose His Senate Seat
There are less than 2 weeks left before the primary in Connecticut. I recently made another donation to the Ned Lamont Campaign and I convinced a couple of friends to do so as well (none of us live in Connecticut). I feel very confident that Lieberman will lose the primary, despite the support of Bill Clinton. That support came a little too late for Lieberman.
There are many reasons for which Lieberman should not be re-elected, but his position on Iraq alone is more than enough. The obvious problem is not that he supported the war at the beggining. The problem is that he continues to do so in a very arrogant manner. That shows that he can not learn from his mistakes and that he is simply an incompetent politician, similar to George W. Bush.
Clinton's support is not surprising. It is a political move to advance the case of Hillary for 2008, by demonstrating to conservatives and republicans that he (and his wife) are in the "center" and they (she) deserve (s) their votes in 2008. Clinton does not care about Lieberman. He only cares (?!) about Hillary's political career.
