Rahm Emanuel On Joe Lieberman: Rubber Stamp For George Bush.

Rahm Emanuel, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and a close ally of president Clinton, said in the Washington Post that he is not worried about the fallout from the Connecticut Primary on House races and that the message from Connecticut is that anyone who supports Bush's war policies is in major political trouble. Those were his words:

"What's playing out here is that being a rubber stamp for George Bush is politically dangerous to life-threatening".

It should be also pointed out, as George Stephanopoulos mentioned on "This Week", that the strong attack on Rumsfeld earlier this week by Hillary Clinton, is also a sign that she follows carefully the Lamont-Lieberman race. The dynamics of the Lamont-Lieberman race have sent a strong message to her that she has to take an anti-Bush position on Iraq if she wants to stay in the race in 2008.

A victory for Ned Lamont will have major implications on the future identity of the democratic party. And the good news is that Lamont will win. After Tuesday, there will be no place for rubber stamping Bush policies by some in the democratic party.
