Good Question. Especially now that it is becoming clear that Dennis Hasterd and other leading republicans knew and were covering up Foley for a while.

The republican party has reached new lows in its history. It has become the party of lies, corruption, and torture. It now appears that they have no problem covering up for people like Mark Foley, as far as it serves their (corrupt) political goals. But that should not come up as a surprise. These people have no principles. They are a bunch of corrupt politicians.
