Sharks in Australia

A sad story from Australia: "Gang of sharks kills Australian" . A 21 year old woman from Brisbane was killed when she was attacked by several sharks on North Stradbroke Island. Police believe three bull sharks could have attacked the young woman, and have launched a large-scale hunt in local waters.

Having visited Australia in the past and been on several different beaches there, I am not surprised at all. There are sharks all over there. In fact, I had the honor to swim right next to a small (not dangerous) shark at one time. Although everyone told us that these small sharks are not dangerous, I was still unhappy to have him right next to me. I could not help it but wonder how come the Australians are not afraid of sharks.
