New poll shows Dan Seals leading in IL-10. Mark Kirk heading for defeat.
It looks more and more that the democrats will win an additional district: IL-10. A recent poll shows Dan Seals clearly leading the race. That poll conducted October 10 and 11th shows:
Dan Seals (D) 52%
Mark Kirk (R) 38%
That is a remarkable turn of events, as Kirk is an incumbent that had won in 2004 with 65% of the vote over another democratic challenger. But Dan Seals is a particularly strong candidate and has the endorsement and active support of Illinois senator Barak Obama. On the other hand, republican Mark Kirk is closely linked to the Bush administration and has voted for the Iraq war and the interevention in the Terri Schiavo case. Dan Seals will be hopefully the next congressman from IL-10 and republican Mark Kirk will be forced to a, well-deserved, early retirement.
