Tragic Consequences
The dispeakable demonstration of the hanging of Saddam Hussein on TV had some tragic consequences for a family in Texas.
A 10-year-old boy was apparently mimicking Hussein's execution when he hanged himself from a bunk bed, police and family members said. The boy was found dead Sunday in his apartment bedroom after watching a news report on the execution of the former Iraqi leader, said Webster Police Lt. Tom Claunch.
When I first watched the hanging by the masked men on TV, I thought how irresponsible it was, and that someone may get killed by trying to imitate such acts. And here it already happened.
The whole thing is a shame and reminiscent of uncivilized actions in the medieval times. Hussein was a terrible dictator, but the demonstration of his hanging on TV by masked men was dispeakable, barbaric, and uncivilized.
