Democratic Debate
I watched most of the democratic debate on Thursday. I have to say that I am not sure whom I will support. I hope that Al Gore really runs, because he will be my first choice. Here is what I think about the other declared democratic candidates so far:
Hillary: I really like her. I think she is very smart and could make a good president. However, I dont trust her, as I believe that she is hostage to special interests and I would not be surprised if she started another war in Iran. I think her position on Iraq was very bad for a long time, and I am not convinced by her recent reversal. So, I will not vote for here in the democratic primaries no matter what. Of course, I will vote for her if she ends up being the democratic candidate.
Obama: I am not impressed and I have no idea why he is a candidate. I also dont trust him in particular. Lets not forget that he campaigned for Lieberman. I will not vote for him in the democratic primaries.
Edwards: He is probably my first choice this moment. If the election was held today, I would vote for him. But I am not convinced that he is the best candidate and/or electable.
Biden: He needs new hair plugs. As it stands now he has no chance. There is no way I would vote for him unless he gets new hair plugs and dentures.
Dodd: Who told him that he has a chance? Someone please tell him that the whole thing is embarassing to him. He is a nice guy and he does not deserve that. No way I would vote for him.
Richardson: Before the debate I was thinking that he is the "emerging star". Not any longer. I am not impressed with him either. We can do better.
Kucinich: He says a lot of things that make sense (i.e. impeach Bush), but he is not a serious candidate. Also, I can not forget that he was so called "pro-life" before he became "pro-choice".
Gravel: I was pleasantly surprised by the clarity of his positions and his honesty. He is a good man, but not a serious candidate. Voting for him would be more of a protest vote than anything else.
In summary, I think that Al Gore should run. If he does, he will win EASILY the democratic nomination and the presidency. Lets hope he enters the race.
