Freedom of Speech

The situation with the Danish Cartoons is completely out of control. So far, Muslim demonstrators have burned two Danish embassies and one Norvegian. It is very hard to understand why. The whole behavior of these fanatics re-emphasizes how terrible religious fundamentalism and religious brain washing can be. As I indicated before, the same people who condemn these silly cartoons have no problem with despicable anti-Jewish caricatures that appear daily in newspapers across the Arab and Muslim world. How do they re-concile that?

In any case, hopefully this story will gradually go away. It is inconceivable that people may loose their lifes for silly cartoons. But the west should stand firm. There should be no way that religious fundamentalists of any denomination define what gets or does not get published in newspapers of the free world. Freedom of speech can not and should not be silenced.
