Who is anti-American now?

Watching 2 members of the gang of 6 (Lieberman, McCain, see earlier posts) today in the Sunday talk shows was depressing. Interestingly, I am not far from concluding that some members (i.e. Joe Lieberman) of that gang are Anti-american. Yes, anti-American. For example:

Joe Lieberman today demonstrated complete disregard for the American voters of Connecticut that re-elected him in the Senate. As outlined in this post in Daily Kos, he LIED big time to be re-elected and he now calls for more troops in Iraq. Who does he think he is? What gives him the right to lie so big and play with the lifes of our troops?

Is Lieberman that stupid to believe that with 20,000 more soldiers we can win there? Of course not. I am starting to conclude that certain members of the gang of 6 (with the exception of McCain who seems to be losing it altogether and Bush who lost it long time ago) are fully aware that the Iraq war is over and can not be won at this point. They just do not want to accept defeat. And they are willing to send more troops to die in that war, not to preserve the prestige of our country, but to simply preserve their OWN prestige and delay the obvious defeat and upcoming witdrawal. If that's not anti-American, what is anti-American?

Again, I dont say thats the case, but I get the feeling that such a scenario is possible. I hope I am wrong, but it is hard to believe that all members of the gang of 6 are so stupid as to believe that escalating the war is the solution, when the commanders in the field made clear that it will not work.
